Please follow this 3-step process to have your tax returns completed:
Step 1. Make an appointment by clicking here: Online Appointment Calendar available on January 19, 2026.

We ENCOURAGE you to schedule an appointment online using the link above. If you need assistance, you may call 919-341-9183 and leave a message. A volunteer does not answer this line; you must leave a message. A volunteer will return your call as soon as possible.
We provide a free While You Wait tax preparation service. Please allow up to 2 hours for this process, potentially longer if your tax return is complex. This is NOT a drop off service.
Step 2 – Get Prepared for Your Appointment
Collect and remove from mailing envelopes all your personal tax documents:
Review list of documents needed to complete your return. A list of common documents are also listed on the Intake Packet envelope.
2. Download and complete all necessary and applicable forms listed below:
Interview & Intake Booklet – please print in landscape format. If you are unable to download and print the necessary forms, you must pick up forms BEFORE your appointment at the locations listed below.
**A COMPLETED INTAKE FORM IS REQUIRED FOR ALL TAX RETURNS**
Schedule C Worksheet – Required if you have self-employment income
Schedule A Itemized Deductions Worksheet – Summarizes all available deductions you may have. (You will only itemize if the total of your itemized deductions exceeds the standard deduction.) A completed worksheet does not require receipts.
Education Credits Worksheet – Required if you have a college student on your return with education expenses or a scholarship to report. Please include a tax form AND Student Account Statement from college or university.
NEW - Qualified Tip Deduction Worksheet for Employees – If you have tip income. Required for the ‘No Tax on Tips’ deduction.
NEW - Qualified Tip Deduction Worksheet for Self-Employed – If you are self-employed and have tip income. Required for the ‘No Tax on Tips’ deduction.
NEW - Qualified Overtime Deduction Worksheet – if you have qualified overtime income. Required for the ‘No Tax on Overtime’ deduction
NEW - Passenger Vehicle Loan Deduction worksheet – if you purchased a qualified new vehicle in 2025 with a loan. See form for more details regarding qualifications.
IRS IP PIN - If you have been the victim of identity fraud in the past, or have requested one, you may have an IRS Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN). If you have, you should have received a letter with your IP PIN for this tax year from the IRS. If you have not yet received it, you can request it here.
ACA Healthcare Marketplace - If you had healthcare through the Affordable Care Act, you will need a 1095-A. If you have not received a mailed copy, you can retrieve information here.
3. Pick Up Tax Packets at These Locations
Wendell Senior Center, 323 Lake Drive, Wendell, Mon – Fri, 8:00 – 4:30 (limited availability on weekends)
Longview Baptist Church, 2308 N. New Hope Road, Raleigh, Mon – Thurs, 9:00 – 4:30 (not available Fri-Sun)
East Regional Center, 1002 Dogwood Dr, Zebulon, Mon - Fri, 8:30 - 5:00 (not available Sat/Sun)
4. Please bring last year’s tax return to your appointment.
*** Please bring a printed copy of ALL tax forms to your appointment ***
Step 3 – Day of Appointment
Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment. Tax Aide services are located in the Church Fellowship Hall.
Parking is available in the front and back of the Church.
Please let us know if you need wheelchair access or another form of accommodation.
1. You are REQUIRED to bring Social Security cards for everyone included in the tax return along with a government-issued original photo ID for the primary taxpayer (and spouse, if applicable).
2. Bring all tax documents, completed forms and your prior-year federal and state tax return
